Baroque Concert with Symphony Nova Scotia

Matthias-Maute-conductingCanadian recorder player Matthias Maute has a “rare virtuosity” that ranks him among “the finest of today’s players” (Washington Post). Matthias joins Symphony Nova Scotia for an energetic display of virtuoso agility in Vivaldi’s Recorder Concerto, alongside a performance of Telemann from the orchestra’s own virtuoso Renaud Lapierre. Plus, hear Matthias lead the orchestra in highlights from Handel’s beloved Water Music and Bach’s Suite no. 3, including the achingly beautiful Air (transcribed as Air on the G String), one of the most famous pieces of baroque music ever written.
